Pynns Brook Christmas Tree Farm Falls Victim to a Grinch.
October 15, 2019

Sometime between Thursday, September 19th and Monday September 23rd, a person(s) gained access to the Christmas Tree Farm in Pynns Brook through a chain-link fence. Once through the exterior fence, the suspect(s) downed an electric rope fence and then proceeded to enter an onsite barn. An Air Liquide Miller Thunder Bolt Welder (Approx $400) and a new 5-gallon jerry can full gas were stolen from the site.

RNC Corner Brook Reminding Motorists to Secure Unoccupied Vehicles
October 08, 2019

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is reminding motorists to secure all unoccupied vehicles when parked.  Thefts from unoccupied vehicles have recently increased, and in most cases it could have been prevented if the vehicles were properly secured. The RNC also advises that any valuables be removed from your vehicle when unoccupied.

These incidents are not contained to a specific street and have occurred in numerous areas throughout the city during the overnight hours.   The most recent incidents have taken place on Wheelers Road, Maple Valley Road, Caribou Road, and Curling.

The RNC continues to diligently investigate these matters and the public can report any information to the RNC at 637-4100

Break and Enter at Barrys North Atlantic in Chapel Arm
September 26, 2019

On Sunday, October 21, 2018, at 1:52 a.m., someone forced entry through the front door of Barry’s North Atlantic.  An ATM was destroyed but no cash stolen.   The suspect is described as having a stocky build and wearing a grey plaid fleece hoodie, dark jeans, tan colored work gloves and a black balaclava.  His nose is crooked indicating it may have been broken in the past. The vehicle used was a 4 door black Honda Civic, with steel wheels; the car is believed to be a standard.   Moments later, a call was received regarding a break and enter at Ultramar in Blaketown.   Video shows the same suspect and the same vehicle.

Break and Enter to Witless Bay Home Hardware

Sometime between 12:25 a.m - 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 14th, someone drove a truck through the lumber yard gates and stole approx. thirty sheets of pressure treated lumber.   The vehicle involved is believed to be a light colored pick up truck with a loud exhaust or engine.  The vehicle may have sustained some front or rear end damage.

Vandalism at the Trepassey Social Center

Sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20th and 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21st, someone gained access to the Trepassey Social Center, vandalizing the doors to the storage room and office area.  Items stolen were two laptops, an LG Samsung LCD tv, a Job Rocker speaker, a Logitech boombox and an undisclosed amount of money.

Break & Enter Theft from a Summer Home in St. Vincents.

Sometime during the first three weeks of August 2019, suspects broke into a summer home and the two adjacent sheds on the property.   Suspects broke the kitchen window and forced the doors to the home and sheds.   Among the items stolen was a large white remote control plane with yellow/red stripes as well as an antique black rotary phone.

Break, Enter and Theft in Baie Verte

The Baie Verte RCMP are asking for the public's help in solving a break, enter and theft.

 

Some time between Thursday, August 8th, 2019 and Thursday, August 22nd, 2019, a cabin was broken into on Highway 417 which is close to the Town of Woodstock. Someone entered the cabin forcefully through the front door, stole some alcohol and a firearm.

Vandalism in Ferryland

A resident reported damage done to one of the grave sights in the graveyard in Trepassey.  Police attended and located the damaged head stone. Paint had been smeared over the names and picture on the head stone.

Single Vehicle Collision in Happy Valley-Goose Bay
September 05, 2019

On August 11th, 2019, RCMP Happy Valley – Goose Bay along with the RCMP Labrador District General Investigation Section, RCMP Police Dog Services and RCMP Forensic Identification Services entered into an investigation of a single vehicle collision. As a result of the investigation, a large quantity of cocaine and money was seized. The matter still remains under investigation.
